University of Haifa Relieves Email Congestion and Boosts Security with eTouchware's Safe-T Secure Managed File Transfer Solution
Leading university sends tens of thousands of email attachments without overloading their mission-critical email service
NEW YORK, NY (November 12, 2009)--eTouchware has announced that the University of Haifa is using eTouchware's Safe-T Managed File Transfer Solution to send email updates with file attachments to tens of thousands of students without the danger of overloading their mission-critical email service.
The university frequently sends tens of thousands of emails to keep its students informed of campus news and activities, administrative policy changes, and other important updates. These emails often include file attachments, which can place heavy demands on the university's email system, storage, and bandwidth.
With the Safe-T Solution, all attachments are automatically offloaded from the email system and directed exclusively through the Safe-T Server. Email system resources remain largely untouched as all attachments are now downloaded via a link embedded in the email. This not only reduces the load on the university's email servers, but it also eliminates unnecessary file duplication, saving gigabytes and even terabytes of space on servers at the University of Haifa.
The Safe-T Solution has also enhanced the university's security with features like secure download links and one-time passwords. This makes the university's technologically saavy IT team and their non-technical users feel equally confident that even the most sensitive email attachments will travel quickly and be viewed only by the intended recipients. "For users and non-technical staff across an educational institution, the Safe-T Solution offers a user-friendly, and extremely secure solution for alleviating email congestion," says Amir Mizhar, eTouchware's CEO. "The ability to create distribution groups is a very powerful feature and helps prevent users from inadvertently sending sensitive information to unintended recipients."
