GUEST POST: Making it Safe or Making the Sale?
By Gad Cohen, VP Business Development I spent a long day in the beautiful city of Geneva meeting with our local customers and prospects. During one of the meetings, a security manager who is championing our product told me, "The key to security is making it easy to the users." He explained that putting in place a strong security policy is easy; making people adopt it is the real challenge.

I couldn't agree more. One of the underlying principles of Safe-T is the need to equally address the needs of two groups: security/IT people and non-IT or business users. While IT people worry about security, non-IT couldn't care less. For them, it's all about productivity and ease of use. Or making the sale. They won't tolerate overhead or procedures that "get in the way of doing business." (OTOH, business users feel that IT cares more about the network than making the money to pay for it).

At eTouchware, we invest a lot of effort and thought to ensure that Safe-T meets the requirements of both groups. Business users can send large files using Safe-T without changing their working habits at all. They can send files of any size directly from within Outlook just as they send regular email today. At the same time, IT users have full control of the system and can set security policies and mechanisms that are transparent to the user while protecting the files as they make their way to their intended destination.
